Zombies to stalk RiverDogs Charity Golf Tournament

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Undead will walk the green at the RiverDogs' 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Tuesday at the Wild Dunes Resort.

The event will benefit the Medical University of South Carolina's Storm Eye Institute to raise funds in an effort to help fight blindness.

Zombie Land

theme will overtake the tournament, and competitors will have to keep their wits and brains about them for an 11 a.m. shotgun start of an atypical game.

The four-man Captain's Choice format will challenge golfers to keep an eye out for zombie walkers that are stumbling and lurching around the fairways and tee boxes in pursuit of a fresh lunch.

For those interested in participating, a fee of $600 covers a foursome entry, green and cart fees, range balls, an exclusive golfer gift and goodie bag, a box lunch, unlimited beverages, and a place at the awards ceremony and dinner.

Hole sponsorships are available for $350.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place teams. Rewards also await the best cart decor, best costume, and those who have survived the course.

Zombie themed contests include bobbing for eyeballs, pin the brain on the zombie, and teeing off on one leg.

Live music by the V-Tones awaits the living, as well as Bloody Marys from Charleston Mix, pizza, and ribs.
