CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Sunday, the YWCA held its annual forum on ending racism.
This year the service focused on the death of Walter Scott but pointed out that racism isn't limited to once instance or one race.
Speakers included state representatives and religious leaders in the area.
They all said the community will have to work together if they want to fix the problem.
"All justice is social because of the very act of striving for it, of working towards it, strengthens the fabric of our society," Rabbi Stephanie Alexander said.
The service also touched on bigotry and that progress needs to be made when it comes to gay marriage and also equal pay for all genders.
