CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The rules may be changing in Charleston for Uber drivers.
Uber is a popular ride-hailing service powered by a smart phone app that allows users to schedule rides.
Currently, Uber is not regulated the same way taxis and limos are in the Holy City.
But if proposed changes are approved by Charleston City Council, all Uber drivers would have to follow the rules taxi and limousine drivers must follow regarding when and where they pick up and drop off passengers downtown.
The new rules may also affect how much Uber drivers charge their customers.
City Council is expected to debate the new rules at Tuesday night's meeting.
