JASPER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Two Lowcountry men have been arrested on child pornography charges.
SC Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Patrick "Trey" Holyfield and Vincent Holyfield, both of Okatie, on charges involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, made the arrest.
Investigators say the men were involved in child pornography via file sharing.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at the Holyfields' residence on April 29.
A preliminary investigation revealed video files containing child pornography.
Vincent Holyfield is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second degree, a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment on each count; and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor third degree, a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment.
Patrick Holyfield is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor third degree, a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
