CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - An arrest has been made following an incident in Hollywood on Thursday night, in which a car struck a fire truck and sped off.
According to an official report, Andrew Casey contacted the Charleston County Sheriff's Department, stating that he wanted to turn himself in. After going to the Charleston County Detention Center, Casey was placed under arrest. He was charged with Driving Under Suspension and Leaving the Scene with Property Damage.
Authorities say the St. Paul's fire chief was returning to the station on Highway 162 when the car car struck the chief's truck and drove off; Officials say the chief is fine.
According to a witness, the same car struck a utility pole in the area of Dixie Plantation Road off of Highway 162.
SCE&G reported around 20 people lost power in that area.
