NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested 27 year old Michael Carns in response to a knife attack that took place on Friday morning.
Around twelve a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance taking place at an apartment in North Charleston.
Officials state that the victim, a 58 year old man, was covered in blood as he was being held down by the suspect, Carns.
An officer reported witnessing the suspect attempting to slash or stab the victim with a pocket knife. The officer then used his taser against the suspect's chest and stomach. According to the report, Carns did not drop the knife until he had been tased a second time.
The victim has been transported to MUSC to be treated for four puncture wounds to his back, and a laceration to his right hand.
Officials state that Carns claimed to have been drunk at the time of the incident. Carns is reported to have gotten in an argument with the victim, and stated that he felt threatened after the victim grabbed a club.
Carns has been transported to Charleston County Jail.
