JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - James Island Pride and Charleston County Recycling will be offering the opportunity for the community to safely dispose of e-waste and hazardous waste at the James Island Town Hall on Saturday.
The event will take place on May 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 1238 Camp Road.
There will also be a community clean-up that day. Volunteers can pick up a safety vest, work gloves, trash bag, and lunch ticket between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Lunch will be provided to volunteers at 11:30 a.m. at Town Hall.
The waste items that will be collected at the event are acid, aerosol cans, alkaline batteries, ni-cad batteries, car batteries, anti-freeze, cell phones and chargers, cleaners and compounds, computers, printers, tablets, flammables in containers, fluorescent bulbs, gas cylinders, glues, latex and oil paints, pesticides, printer cartridges, and television sets.
