CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church will be providing the opportunity for the community to learn more about a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention at a Community Health Fair on Saturday.
The event will be held in the Buist Academy School cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The school is located at 103 Calhoun Street in Charleston.
Attendees will have access to a variety of health screenings, including cholesterol and glucose testing, hypertension, cardiology, stroke, urology, OBG-YN, podiatry, GI, neurology, first aid, physical therapy, dental hygiene, sickle cell, hearing, vision, and speech therapy.
Educational and informational topics will include CPR demonstrations, spiritual growth, free clinic care, cancer, lupus, dialysis, nutrition, alternative medicines, wellness, Alzheimer's, sleep apnea, teen pregnancy, home and senior care, domestic violence, legal aid, Medicaid/ Medicare and life insurance, PTSD, and many more.
Games will be available for children, including a jump castle, jumping rope, and a fire house and safety demonstration.
