HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - Emergency crews have extinguished a fire in Hanahan Saturday morning.

North Charleston Fire Department officials say they assisted the Hanahan Fire Department with a fire at a six-unit townhome.

According to witnesses, the building on fire was in the area of Willard Drive off of Yeamans Hall Road.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross are assisting ten people who had been living in the destroyed townhomes.

Pictures released at 12:37 a.m. by NCFD officials show the majority of the flames had been put out, but heavy smoke remained in some areas.

No injuries have been reported yet by authorities.
