NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Local groups gathered at North Charleston City Hall to honor Walter Scott and observe the one month mark since Scott's death.

In the last month groups like Black Lives Matter, the Coalition and the National Action Network have been protesting outside city hall.

The groups have called for Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlet Wilson to recuse herself from prosecuting the case against Michael Slager, the former North Charleston police officer charged in Scott's death.

Wilson has since refused, saying she was elected to serve all of the people in her circuit and says she will continue to do so

The groups have also called for transparency within the police department and a citizens review board.

Officials say they can't release anymore information until SLED has finished their investigation.

The group planned to remain at city hall until 7 p.m. Monday.
