JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The nation got to feast their eyes on an incredible double bicycle kick goal by the James Island Charter High School boy's soccer team as the highlight made the ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 Wednesday night.
Showcasing the best plays in sports, the double bicycle kick came in at No. 2 on a Wednesday night showing of the SportsCenter Top 10 list. The extremely rare goal occurred Tuesday night in the Trojans win over Ashley Ridge.
Later in the night, the SportsCenter Twitter account asked the public which play they thought was better, pitting the high school soccer goal against a crossover and score from pro soccer phenom Lionel Messi. Fans were asked to vote using the hashtag #SCnumber1, with SportsCenter later announcing the James Island goal won with 52 percent of the vote.
Senior Yasir Al-Kameshi crossed the ball into the box with the first bicycle kick right to fellow senior William Le, who pulled off a second bicycle kick to score the goal. James Island would win 3-1.
The Trojans are back in action on Thursday when they head to River Bluff.
