WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - A 52-year-old Florida woman accused of attempting to run over a Walterboro police officer is also wanted by investigators in Georgia for another bank robbery.

The Walterboro Police Department charged Linda Renee Walker with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and attempted murder.

Authorities say Walker is a person of interest in another armed robbery at a bank in Pooler, Ga. on May 4.

On Wednesday, officers from the Walterboro Police Department responded to First Federal on 300 Robertson Blvd. in reference to an armed robbery that just occurred.

According to police, at 3:20pm Walker entered the bank and brandished a handgun demanding money.

A police report states Walker was given an unspecified amount of money by tellers before fleeing the scene in her vehicle.

Police officials say deputies from the Colleton County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop Walker at which point Walker accelerated her vehicle at a deputy in an attempt to physically run him over with her vehicle.

SLED officials say a deputy shot the suspect in the hand after she attempted to run him over.

Authorities say the suspect was taken into custody, and the deputy involved was not injured.

SLED is investigating the shooting.
