CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC - Four kayakers were rescued near Folly beach on Friday afternoon.
High waves pushed the kayakers off their kayaks at approximately 2:25 p.m., but all are expected to be okay.
Folly Beach Police have been training all week for water rescues.
This weekend, local law enforcement is urging beach goers to not go in the water because of the high risk of rip currents.
The warning from law enforcement did not stop surfers, young and old, from taking advantage of the high waves on Friday afternoon.
There is currently a tropical storm watch in Charleston and Berkeley counties.
The main impacts are expected to occur along the immediate coast of Charleston County and across adjacent coastal waters. On area beaches, there is the chance for high surf of 4 to 6 feet, beach erosion and dangerous rip currents into Sunday.
