JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Count Sheriff's Office says a man died after he fell off a tractor and was struck by one the vehicle's tires.

The Charleston County Corner's Office say 52-year-old Thomas Bussey of Johns Island died from injuries sustained.

On Sunday at 6 p.m., deputies responded to a home on Humbert Road on Johns Island to investigate a fatal accident.

Initial reports stated that the victim had been operating a Massey Ferguson 1030 trailer on his property. According to CCSO officials, the tractor had a flat left front tire and the victim was attempting to take the tractor into a garage under his home to repair it.

Authorities say it appears when the victim reached the garage door, he fell from the tractor and was struck by the back left tire.

A report by the sheriff's office states the driver was last seen at 5 p.m on the tractor heading back to his home, and was found at 6 p.m.

The tractor was still in gear when the victim was discovered.
