Sangaree honors students raise $1,500 for BCSO's K-9 Unit

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Students at one Summerville school are donating $1,500 to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office's K-9 Unit as part of an annual service project.

Sangaree Intermediate School's chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) presented the $1,500 check to the Sheriff's Office Tuesday.

NEHS chose the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office's K-9 Unit for their annual service project. Their goal was to raise money to go towards purchasing GPS tracking units for each K-9.

Students raised money throughout the year with fundraising events like a car wash, Valentine's Day dance, and a pickle sale.
