CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The City of Charleston has set a date to celebrate the completion of the Gaillard Center in downtown Charleston.
It will be held on Oct. 9.
The center on Calhoun Street will include new city offices, a renovated exhibition hall and the Martha and John Rivers Performance Hall.
The final project involves tuning the performance hall acoustics.
That will be done in August and September.
The first public performance at the hall will be Sunday, Oct. 18.
The city's goal was to have it complete last month in time for the Spoleto Festival, but it wasn't ready in time.
