NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 16-year-old is charged with murder in a fatal Sunday morning drive-by shooting, according to police.

The juvenile, whose identity has not been released, was arrested shortly after noon on Thursday in connection with the shooting death of 36-year-old Kedena Brown on Sunday, according to North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

The juvenile has also been charged with four counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Pryor said.

North Charleston police believe Brown's car was mistaken for a similar car involved in a shootout that began in the area of Lawrence Street and Constitution Avenue. Investigators say Brown was shot near the intersection of Ashley Phosphate and Northwoods Boulevard.

She died hours later at MUSC.

The suspect is being housed at the Department of Juvenile Justice.
