SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The K-9 Unit of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office will be receiving a check for $1,500 from a group of dedicated students at Sangaree Intermediate School.
The check is to be used for purchasing GPS units for each K-9.
The Sangaree Intermediate National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) will be presenting the check on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the school, which is located at 201 School House Lane in Summerville.
The NEHS decided to devote their efforts to the K-9 Unit during a meeting at the beginning of the year. The students set a goal to earn as much money as they could through various service projects.
On November 15, students raised $277 at a car wash. On February 19, a Valentine's Dance raised $992.25. A pickle sale on March 17 brought in $164.15. To round off the final total, the PTA donated $66.60.
