FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - Volunteers on Folly Beach Monday resisted the temptation to enjoy some rays on the sand, instead choosing to hit the streets...for a good cause.
The group took part in Center Street Beautification Day, a project to spruce up Folly Beach's main street before tourist season begins.
"You'll see all the normal, you'll see the water bottles, you know you'll find a couple beer bottles, plastic cups, things of that sort," Folly Beach City Council Member D.J. Rich said. "Usually you'll find trash that people leave from their car, whether it's diapers, cans things of that nature food wrappers."
The cleanup started at Folly River Park. Then, volunteers worked their way through the commercial district, finishing at Loggerhead's Beach Grill for a cook-out!
