Deputies investigate early morning Charleston Co. home invasion

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning home invasion.

Deputies responded to a home on Dunlap Street in Driftwood Mobile Home Park around 4:45 a.m. Dunlap Street is just off Rivers Avenue near the intersection of Ashley Phosphate Road.

Victims told deputies four or five masked men broke into the home and demanded money at gunpoint. The victims' hands were zip-tied together while the men ransacked the house, according to an incident report.

Deputies say the men took jewelry, a debit card and cash.

According to North Charleston Police Department spokesperson Spencer Pryor, Dunlap street falls under the jurisdiction of the Charleston County Sheriff's Office which headed up the investigation. A North Charleston unit was on scene as an agency assist.

Officers left the scene around 5:30 a.m.
