SoCon, CAA baseball tournaments in town this week

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

College baseball fans can get their fill this week with two conference tournaments running simultaneously. The Citadel is hosting the Southern Conference tournament at Joe Riley Park and the College of Charleston is hosting the Colonial Athletic Association tournament at Patriots Point. The winners of both tournaments earn automatic bids to the NCAA tournament starting next week.

The Citadel opens the SoCon tournament with a play-in game Tuesday at 10 a.m. The winner advances to the 8-team double elimination bracket. Tickets are $30 for a tournament pass or $10 for single-day passes. For more details and a full schedule of the tournament, click here.

The 6-team double elimination CAA tournament begins at 12 p.m. on Wednesday at The Ballpark at Patriots Point. Top seeded College of Charleston will begin its run for a second straight title at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The Cougars (41-11, 21-3 in CAA) will play the Elon/Delaware winner. You can find the bracket here. All-tournament passes for the CAA are $30 for adults and $20 for youth (ages 18 and under). Single-day passes are $12 for adults and $10 for youth.
