Publix holds Miracle Balloon campaign to benefit children's hospitals

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - For the twenty-third year in a row, Publix Super Markets is raising funds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through their annual Miracle Balloon Campaign.

By purchasing coupons, customers can contribute to life-saving care for children in the communities of Publix patrons. Proceeds will also go towards the purchase of equipment, and the ability to provide research, education, and outreach programs.

The coupons associated with this campaign will be available Memorial Day weekend through June 12. They may be purchased at the register for the amounts of $1, $3, $5, and for offer values of $5.50, $10, and $20.

As a thanks for each contribution, customers will receive ten vendor coupons.

"Sixty-two children enter a Children's Miracle Network Hospital for treatment every minute," said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "Publix is a leader in the grocery world and in helping their communities. We are grateful for their support in ensuring kids in their communities receive the best care.”

Over 1,000 Publix stores participating this year have set a goal to exceed last year's total of almost $3.3 million, which benefited 23 member hospitals.

Publix has raised more than $30 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals since 1992.
