LADSON, SC (WCSC) -  There has been a happy turn of events in the story of a grill that had been stolen from Heritage Holiness Church on Ladson Road on Monday night.

The grill has now been returned to its rightful owners, according to Reverend Bob with the church.

A WCSC viewer called in on Sunday afternoon to report seeing the distinctive stainless steel grill, which had been purchased by an acquaintance for several hundred dollars. The acquaintance had not been aware that the grill had been stolen.

The grill was made especially for the church, and cost about $5,000.

It is used weekly to benefit the needy.

Authorities said the person responsible for the theft had been driving a Ford or Chevy truck. He broke the lock on the grill, connected it to his hitch, and left the scene.
