LADSON, SC (WCSC) - A 44-year-old man was taken into custody by North Charleston police early Monday morning after allegedly stabbing a man multiple times.

North Charleston police responded to the 9400 block of Highway 78 in Ladson around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.

Officers reportedly arrived to find the victim, a 24-year-old male, standing by the road covered in blood due to several stab wounds to his torso. The victim told police the person who stabbed him was inside the trailer he was standing in front of.

An incident report states Lazo-Ortiz was ordered out of the trailer, and was then taken into custody.

The victim was transported to MUSC. No word on the victim's condition.

Lazo-Ortiz was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife during a violent crime. He is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond.
