GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Walmart will open the first of four Neighborhood Markets in the Tri-County on Wednesday.
The store, located at 1635 Red Bank Rd. in Goose Creek, is one-fourth the size of a Walmart SuperCenter and is more of a traditional grocery store with a pharmacy.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. During the grand-opening from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore is scheduled to sign autographs at the store.
The other Goose Creek store, located at 215 St. James Ave., will open on June 24.
The Summerville and Ladson stores are scheduled to open later this summer. All four will employ up to 95 people each. You may still apply for jobs at the Ladson and Summerville locations.
A temporary hiring center is open at 1706 Trolley Rd., Suite-E in Summerville. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.
