FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Flood Advisory issued as storms continue

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A Flood Advisory has been reissued by the National Weather Service Wednesday morning as storms continue to hammer parts of the Lowcountry

A Flood Advisory covering parts of Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, North Charleston, Goose Creek, Moncks Corner, James and Johns Islands that initially expired at 8:15 a.m. was reissued at just after 9 a.m. The new advisory is in effect until 11:15 a.m. 

Another soaker of a day is underway in the Lowcountry and the threat for heavy rain will be with us all day long. Several inches of rain had already fallen before sunrise today in and around the Charleston metro and a few more inches of rain will be possible today especially in heavier thunderstorms.

Scattered storms and the threat for heavy rain will be with us through Thursday before relief arrives this weekend.

TODAY: Numerous showers and storms, some with heavy rainfall. High 82. S wind 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and storms likely. Low 66. S wind light.THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance for scattered storms. High 84.Have a great day and be safe especially driving around.
