CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County School District announced Thursday three finalists have been named for their next Superintendent of Schools.
The school district's Board of Trustees named the following candidates:
- Dr. Terri L. Breeden - Assistant Superintendent, Department of Instruction for Loudoun County (Va.) Public Schools
- Dr. Lisa N. Herring - Deputy Superintendent for Charleston County School District
- Dr. Gerrita Postlewait - Assistant Vice President, ACT, Iowa City, Iowa
The superintendent position became vacant following the resignation of Dr. Nancy McGinley in October 2014. McGinley announced she would resign following a controversy over alleged racism by members of the Academic Magnet High School football team.
