CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Members of the Charleston County School Board will meet on Monday for the first time since naming three finalists to be the next superintendent.
The three candidates are Dr. Terri Breeden, assistant superintendent for Loudoun County Public Schools in Virginia; Dr. Lisa Herring, deputy superintendent for CCSD, and Dr. Gerrita Postlewait, the former Horry County superintendent who now works for ACT testing.
Each candidate will now go through more in-depth interviews with the Board.
The board hopes to name a new superintendent by July 1.
The superintendent position became vacant following the resignation of Dr. Nancy McGinley in October 2014. McGinley announced she would resign following a controversy over alleged racism by members of the Academic Magnet High School football team.
