CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A local mentoring group will recognize dozens of boys who are making the grade, and making a difference in their communities.

The Distinguished Gentlemen's Club will host its annual awards ceremony on Saturday at Hanahan Middle School from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.

State Sen. Marlon Kimpson will be the speaker.

DCG works with at-risk boys from the ages of 7 to 9 to promote character, leadership and social development. The program started in Hanahan in 2010.  More than 100 boys around the Tri-County are currently enrolled.

Only invited guests are welcome at the ceremony, but boys and parents who want to know more about the program, may log onto
