CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A four-day conference focusing on southern women's history is scheduled to get underway in Charleston.
About 300 scholars are gathering Thursday for the meeting of the Southern Association for Women Historians, which is held every three years.
It's being hosted by the School of Humanities at The Citadel and its Department of History.
The conference is focusing on women and the relation to history and history tourism.
The opening session includes a discussion of women and the civil rights movement.
