Man who captured video of Walter Scott shooting honored in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The man who captured the cell phone video of the deadly shooting of Walter Scott was honored in North Charleston on Thursday.

Rep. Wendell Gilliard honored Feidin Santana with a House Resolution.

Gilliard says Santana is one of his personal heroes.

On Monday, the Charleston County Grand Jury indicted former officer Michael Slager for murder in the shooting death of Walter Scott.

The charge carries a sentence of 30 years to life in prison.

No trial date has yet been set for Slager.
