Operation Home fundraiser to benefit needy, low-income families

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Non-profit organization Operation Home will be hosting its fifth annual fundraiser event, Gimme Shelter, on June 18.

The event takes place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

It will be held at The Alley Charleston, located on 131 Columbus Street.

Operation Home provides assistance to people whose homes require additional safety and accessibility features. They also coordinate essential home repairs for low-income residents. Their efforts within Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties concentrate on needy households with children, people with disabilities, and older adults.

Tickets are $20 per person. Cost of admission includes food from Home Team BBQ and entertainment. VIP tickets cost $125, and include an expanded menu and open bar.

There will be a silent auction, and attendees will have the opportunity to win a Scout Boat.

Entertainment will be provided by New Orleans' based New Breed Brass Band with a mix of funk, rock, jazz, and hip-hop.
