PICKENS, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say they have found a second inmate who escaped this week from a minimum-security jail in Pickens County.
Deputies said in a news release that 28-year-old Jeffrey Shane Mauldin was taken into custody after briefly running from officers checking on a call about a suspicious person around 5:30 a.m. Friday.
He was recaptured two days after authorities found Ryan Floyd, who escaped at the same time late Tuesday.
Investigators say the men opened up a section of fence surrounding the Pickens County Stockade. A third inmate has been charged with aiding in the escape.
