CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say they will be hosting the 10th Annual Police Motorcycle training seminar starting Wednesday through Saturday.
"This prestigious event showcases the skills and abilities it takes to operate a police motorcycle with rider safety in mind," stated a press release from the sheriff's office."As in years past the event is being held in parking lot E of the North Charleston Coliseum off of International Blvd. Bostic Law Firm and Low County Harley Davidson are sponsors of the event."
Officials say this year's event is expected to highlight fifty riders from across the southeast including Florida, New York, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina among others.
"Charleston County Sheriff's Office motor officers will be competing in the event as well as riders from Charleston County EMS," a press release stated.
Events begin with practice on Wednesday, and the competition begins with the opening ceremony at 8 a.m. on Saturday and end that evening with a closing ceremony.
"The public is invited and encouraged to attend this event and cheer on their favorite rider, the training is free to the public including free parking. Proceeds from the event will benefit Camp Happy Days and Carolina C.O.P.S."
