CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A panel looking at night life in Charleston is presenting its recommendations almost a year after the city put a moratorium on new bars operating after midnight.

The Late Night Activity Review Committee holds a public meeting Tuesday evening at the Charleston Maritime Center. The speaker is Jim Peters, the president of the Responsible Hospitality Institute and a national expert on managing nightlife in cities.

The recommendations deal with issues such as developing public-private partnerships for handling problems arising from the late-night operations of bars and restaurants; zoning matters and the best ways to get people to and from nightspots.

The review committee is comprised of 21 business and community members who began meeting in November.
