12-year-old girl who escaped suspected kidnapper: 'I'm still scared right now'

SUMMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville Police say they are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to abduct a 12-year-old girl who was walking to her apartment.

An incident report states the attempted abduction occurred at Planters Retreat on May 29 around 3 p.m.

The victim, Alisia Moore says she walked to a nearby Speedway Gas Station on Ladson Road with a couple friends around 2:50 p.m. While walking, she noticed a white work van with a ladder rack parked near a stop sign.

"I thought it was like a random person, but I didn't know who it was, the guy was just pulling out," Moore said.

The middle schooler says she walked home alone and the van pulled up closer to her when she got back to the apartment complex.

Moore says the driver pulled up closer to her.

"He was like 'Hey sexy, come here, I have something for you.' I like blew him off and I kept walking,"

She says the guy wouldn't take no for an answer and blocked her in by a trash can.

"He tried to get out of his car and grabbed me and ripped my shirt. I got a little scared."

That's when her sister came out of the apartment.

"She said,'Alisia, where are you?' and I told her to run, and he had a distraction, looked back. As soon as I looked back, I ran."

Even after her close call, Moore was able to give police a good description of the suspect. She helped them put together a sketch.

"That moment like it just sticks in my brain. Anything that's important I can remember it for the rest of my life. It's like a moment I will never forget," Moore said.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5-foot-9 and 210 pounds, with a round face, gray mustache and hair, and glasses. He also had a raspy voice and his skin was wrinkled and freckled.

He was driving a white work van with windows on every door and a ladder rack. The van had a "G" style logo similar to a Gatorade logo on the left side of a window.
