More dangerous heat in eastern South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - It's another scorcher for eastern South Carolina.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory Wednesday for 16 counties in the eastern part of the state.

Forecasters say dangerous heat is expected between midday until early evening.

Heat index readings could range from 105 to 107 in the northeastern part of South Carolina except along the beaches. In the southeastern part of the state, heat index readings could range from 105 to 108 in the inland areas, with readings of up to 112 along the coast.

Cities included in the area include Hilton Head Island, Summerville, Charleston, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston and Florence.
