CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The heat wave continues to move through the Lowcountry for the fourth day. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in effect today from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. for heat indices in the 107-114 degree range.
Today is expected to be mostly sunny and very hot. There is a 20% chance for an afternoon storm. Highs are anticipated to be in the upper 90s.
Officials say an abnormally large area of high pressure over the southeast will weaken very slightly on Friday and Saturday before strengthening again into early next week keeping temperatures well above average, and near record breaking.
