Berkeley school district seeks bus drivers, to hold training class

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -  Berkeley County is recruiting school bus drivers.

The Berkeley County School District will hold a School Bus Driver Training class from June 22 to 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The class will take place in the Berkeley County School Boardroom on 231 East Main Street in Moncks Corner.

According to a news release, bus drivers in Berkeley County can earn between $10.64 and $17.49 per hour. Bus drivers also qualify for health insurance, retirement, and sick leave.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver's license with no more than four points on their license.

Applicants must successfully complete a school bus drivers training course and be certified and licensed by the South Carolina Department of Education.

Prior to employment, all applicants will undergo a physical performance test, drug test, and background investigation.
