Funeral arrangements have been set for the pastor of the Mother Emanuel AME Church.
Three viewings are planned for the Hon. Rev. Clementa Pinckney between Columbia and Charleston.
The first will take place Wednesday in Columbia from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Rotunda of the South Carolina State House.
On Thursday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., a viewing will be held in St. John AME Church at 2740 Tillman Rd. in Ridgeland, where Pinckney grew up. A third viewing is set for 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.
Pinckney's funeral service is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at the TD Arena on the College of Charleston campus. Burial will be held directly after the funeral at St. James AME Church in Marion.
Pinckney, a state senator who represented South Carolina Dist. 45, was one of nine people killed by a gunman Wednesday night following a bible study in the church.
Born July 30, 1973 in Beaufort, the 41-year-old was a graduate of Allen University and the University of South Carolina. He graduated from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in 2008, according to his state government biography.
Pinckney is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and two children, Eliana and Malana.
