COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have released dash camera footage which authorities say shows a "Star Wars" actor leading deputies on a high speed chase last week.

Officers say 26-year-old Jake Broadbent crashed his vehicle Wednesday alongside I-95, ending a high speed chase that began in Charleston County and ended in Colleton County.

Deputies confirmed through a former talent agent that Broadbent is better known as Jake Lloyd, the Associated Press reports. Lloyd played Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace," and starred in the 1996 film "Jingle All The Way."

According to Charleston County deputies, Lloyd was spotted just before 2 p.m. swerving in and out of lanes, as well as running a red light on Savannah Highway. Lloyd then began speeding after deputies activated their blue lights to initiate a traffic stop.

Colleton County deputies were called to assist after Lloyd took off down Ace Basin Parkway towards Walterboro, a release states.

Deputies say they saw the suspect's vehicle on Charleston Highway passing cars on a double yellow line and later hitting speeds of over 100 miles per hour. The vehicle continued to drive in a "reckless manner" onto Highway 61 and then I-95 southbound where it lost control near mile marker 56.

A release states Lloyd was arrested after his vehicle ran off the right side of the road, drove through a fence onto a frontage road, and went into a wooded area where it collided with several small trees.

Lloyd was charged with reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights and resisting arrest.
