NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Police are investigating after shots were fired into a North Charleston business Tuesday afternoon.

North Charleston police officials say shortly before 3 p.m., officers responded to A&D Vapor at Dorchester Road and Hill Drive for a report of shots fired into the business.

A store employee told investigators that when she returned to the front of the store, she saw the front door shattered.

NCPD officials say a vehicle was seen going east on Dorchester Road.

No injuries were reported.

Police are continuing the investigation.

Pictures from the scene showed multiple evidence markers on the road in front of the business.

Brian Whitfield said he was working next door, installing an ATM machine when he heard about 12 shots.

"A few of the bullets entered into the alteration shop where two elderly ladies were working," Whitfield said."They were terrified. One of the bullets also hit a parked car. Our courts need stiffer penalties so when they catch these guys they never ever see the light of day again."
