CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police are investigating a Facebook video of an apparent interaction between one of their officers and a group of African-American children.
The video begins with children using graphic language towards a police officer who is driving by in his cruiser. At the end of the video, the officer appears to say, "Don't go to church and get hurt," before driving away.
Witnesses say the video was recorded Monday in the Ardmore subdivision in West Ashley.
Police are aware of the video and are looking into it, according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis. He said the Charleston Police Department will "continue to demonstrate through both words and actions that we are here to provide safety, security and comfort to the families, church and community."
