CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Family and friends are gathering for the first two funerals for victims of a church shooting in Charleston.
The funeral for Ethel Lance is scheduled for Thursday morning, while the funeral for Sharonda Coleman-Singleton will be held in the afternoon. Both services are taking place at churches in North Charleston.
The women were among the nine people shot to death last week at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church in Charleston.
Funerals for other victims are scheduled to take place through Monday.
President Barack Obama is scheduled to memorialize the victims on Friday when he delivers the eulogy at the funeral for Emanuel's pastor and South Carolina state Sen. Clementa Pinckney.
