CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston Police Department has partnered with the Trident United Way's 211 service to offer resources to people in the wake of the Charleston church shooting.

Charleston Police Chief Greg Mullen announced the partnership at a press conference Thursday morning.

"We recognize that not only are the families and their close friends struggling with this, but it's also impacting our entire community and many others around the region," Mullen said.

Anyone who feels they need psychological or counseling assistance or resources, they can call 211 and operators will be able to assist them, Mullen said.
