CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - President Barack Obama's visit to the Lowcountry Friday for the funeral of State Sen. and Rev. Clementa Pinckney could could cause flight delays, authorities say.
People flying in and out of Charleston should be prepared for delays Friday afternoon.
The Secret Service will not release the exact details of the president's flight or how other flights will be effected because of security reasons. Airspace is locked down when Air Force One is in an area.
However, Federal Aviation Administration officials say there will be flight restrictions from 12:30 p.m. until 5:45 pm.
Anyone flying in and out of Charleston International Airport during these should check with their airline Friday morning for details on delays or cancellations.
