Surf lessons offered to warriors for PTSD Awareness day

FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - Free therapeutic surf lessons will be offered on Saturday for 35 local Warriors and their families for National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Day.

The Palmetto Warrior Connection will host the event on Folly Beach directly behind the Tides Hotel, between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.

The hotel is located on 1 Center Street.

The Warrior Surf Foundation and Charleston Surf Lessons are joining at this event to educate Warriors of the benefits of surfing as a method of relieving anxiety and symptoms of PTSD and combat-related injuries.

Warriors will receive a free surf lesson, followed by a barbeque buffet.
