SOUTH CAROLINA (WCSC) - Visitors to South Carolina beaches on July 4 will be able to watch vintage WWII aircraft and Shaw Air Force Base F-16s engage in a coastal flyover for the annual Salute from the Shore in honor of the heroes who have served the country.
The Salute begins at 1 p.m. over Cherry Grove, north of Myrtle Beach. It will circle Patriot's Point in Charleston before finishing south of Hilton Head around 1:45 p.m.
Various flights of planes will be visible at different times between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
The most memorable and creative "Salute of the Year" by participants of the event will be awarded with a prize package of T-shirts, posters, and stickers.
