MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Authorities arrested 10 fugitives in Berkeley County over a two-and-a-half week period in June.
The felony arrest warrants were related to crimes including attempted murder, strong armed robbery, criminal sexual conduct with a minor, assorted drug charges, criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and immigration-related offenses, according to Berkeley County Sheriff's spokesperson Michael Mulè.
"This effort demonstrates the positive working relationships the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has with our local, state and federal partners," Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said. "The results make our communities safer. I will use all resources available to apprehend fugitives from Berkeley County and improve public safety for our residents."
The local U.S. Marshals Service's Fugitive Task Force, which consists of officers from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, the North Charleston Police Department, the City of Charleston Police Department, the U. S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, made the arrests between June 9 and June 26, Mulè said.
