CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police have released the name of the 16-year-old accused of shooting an eight-year-old early Sunday morning.
Deomontae Wallace is being charged as an adult.
Wallace is in jail right now after being denied bond on the Assault and Battery charge against him.
It was pretty calm in the area of America and Harris streets Monday morning.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Charleston police say two groups were arguing when Wallace shot an eight-year-old in the arm.
Police believe he was not the intended target in the shooting.
The eight-year old is expected to be fine, and is out of the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
